Snakes, or the Serpent, are found in most world religions, and range in worship to represent predominantly good/evil, decit, guardianship and medicine/(im)mortality.
Ludwig has always focused on the early depictions of the snake, specifically the Sumerians' first documented usage of the serpent image in approximagely 2000 B.C. as well as the temple of Teotihuacan and persona of Quetzalcoatl. He uses this knowledge to fuse his Judeo -Christian background and create universal symbolism within its religious significance.
Religions and/or Cultures represented:

Animal Kingdom dedicates itself to the symbolism of animals spanning stages of human-community development, from Mayan civilizations to representational commonalities between Christianity, Judaism and Islam. Animals can be seen as a representation of human traits, inspired by people's personalities and human aspirations. The series allows for the exploration of movement, biology, form and function and provides iconic representations of certain constants extending through time. As humans are likewise animals, some of the emotional states acquire a mythological status through life experiences in the continuance of a reality that, on the infinite scale, does not change.
